ABOUT

“Chef Fern” who is very passionate about cooking has proved to be a top chef by achieving a first class honor’s degree from Le Cordon Bleu Pasadena – Pasadena, CA Campus in the year 2011. She also gained some extraordinary experience working as part of culinary team for a world famous – Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel. Chef Fern has always loved cooking since her childhood. She spent a great amount of time learning many secret recipes from her beloved 90 year old grandma who inspired her to be a chef.

Unlike Chef Fern, “Chef Pla” got her degree in the Bachelor of Communications Arts Program and had worked extensively in the film industry in Thailand. Destiny brought her to open a restaurant in Los Angeles, her great passion for cooking comes from a strong culinary business background. Her grandmother owned a restaurant in Thailand. Her dad was an executive chef at five star hotels in Phuket where her mom opened a successful restaurant also. For example, at Luv2eat Thai Bistro “the well-known crab curry” is Chef Pla signature dish became very popular because of the secret recipe that has been passed through generations. Chef Pla is also well known for her desserts. She loves to bake and it’s easy to see from the reaction of those who’ve tasted her desserts that she has a passion for it. Her signature dessert “Planoffee” and Thai tea pudding became legendary with all her customers.

Chef Fern and Chef Pla are originally from a province in Thailand called “Phuket”. The two have been involved in running Thai restaurants for years. With the support of family, friends and beloved ones, the two decided to open “Luv2eat” Thai Bistro together in October, 2014. It’s guaranteed to be the new spot where most Thai food lovers meet!

Testimonials

Luv2Eat has become me and my boyfriends go-to spot. We consistently will order Pad Ka Prao with Crispy pork, no bell peppers – cause my boyfriend isn’t a fan, and not spicy (boyfriend can’t handle spice, they always give me a small container on the side so i can make mine as spicy as i want).

The crispy pork stays perfectly crispy and the sauce is phenomenal.

Service here is always phenomenal and the girls that work here have remember us (with the # of times we come in and cause we always order the same thing).

Be adventurous though….everything I’ve been recommended by the girls has always been great

An awesome girl from L.A.

It’s true this place probably has the most authentic dishes and flavors for miles. But that might not always be a good thing. Beware mild spice can still have a kick to it. If you’re not used to Thai spices then I’d start with NO spice. This rating is based on food alone. The location isn’t without it’s complaints. You’ll find 1-2 homeless and other vagrants nightly. But this isn’t supposed to be fine dining. Service is appropriate as is the pricing, although it could be a little less.

There’s normally plenty of seating and parking, there are seats outside, but again there might be some undesirables lurking around.

FIVE STARS FOR AMAZING THAI FOOD!!!

As someone who eats Thai food often I was very exited to try this place when I heard from a friend how authentic the dishes were. We ordered the shrimp paste fried rice, the raw shrimp salad, and the fried chicken. All three dishes were done extremely well. I’ve never had the shrimp paste fried rice before, it was so delicious!

We enjoyed our food so much, we ordered the jade noodle and durian sticky rice to go. The durian with sticky rice uses cooked during, I was expecting fresh durian, but it was delicately either way.

I think the great food is wasted on this location, I think they will be much more appreciated in SGV or dtla area!

They’re located on sunset blvd, in a sketchy looking plaza with a 7-eleven. Plenty of parking in the private lot!
